What difference does a moment make?

A Second in Time

By Michael Dean Cook 1-27-21

I had a schedule,

My day was packed full.

But chance things happened,

Odd things were unplanned.

Silly old me sees,

I’ve forgotten my keys.

Back in I hurry,

Grab keys in a flurry.

On the road at last,

Late but going fast.

A little behind,

Where I wish to be.

Best I reckoned,

I’m late a second.

Wreckage ahead,

Bloody body dead.

A second of time,

The body’d be mine.
